New Moon in Scorpio and Jupiter Changes

The New Moon in #Scorpio hit last night (11/7/2018, 8:02 am, EST), bringing with it what one of my clients eloquently called a “Scorpiocoaster".

The sun and the moon are in the same sign and so both planets (identity as ruled by the sun; emotions as ruled by the moon) are focused in the same direction, metaphorically speaking. New Moons encourage planning, growth, and change. It’s the seed that hasn’t sprouted yet, but where all potential lives.

A New Moon in Scorpio asks that we focus our attention and change in the direction of all things ruled by Scorpio: deep feelings, psychic and energy work, sex, intimacy, the dark, the light, death. other people’s money. Scorpio represents a cavern of emotions that can be used to fuel your direction.

Scorpio is a sign that goes bone deep. If you think you’re going to make it through this month without some intense processing, forget it. It’s time to sit down and start to make progress into the house that is ruled by Scorpio in your personal chart.

For example, I recently read for a client who had Scorpio in her 7th house. I knew she would feel the New Moon transit in her house of marriage, partnerships, and balance…and this would lead to some major questions about depth, intimacy, and sex (Scorpio) in those areas. How deeply connected was she feeling to her partner or partnership style? Where was the depth? The New Moon transit was asking her to have a look at where Scorpio traits were playing or needed to play a role in her 7th house. It makes sense that love (7th house) would happen to hold hands with the New Moon transit in Scorpio, but this transit will also bring laser focus to other houses: wherever the transit touches is where you’re in need of a total excavation. A clearing, if you will. Old ideas? Out. Old patterns? Out. Time to look at new ways to do your Scorpio.

On the day of the New Moon, Jupiter moved from deep, intuitive Scorpio to expansive and international Sagittarius. Jupiter handles luck and expansion - and most Jupiter transits last for one year. That means that wherever Scorpio hits your chart is where you had an extraordinary chance to break out and grow over this last year. The universe gave you a high five to get busy expanding and changing your life in the Scorpio house. That’s a wonderful note from which we entered into the New Moon.
