Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide: Mercury in Retrograde in Sagittarius

It’s that time again. And isn’t it just Murphy’s Law that the moment one retrograde stops (the venus retrograde ended on Nov, 16, 2018) another one begins the day of?

Yes, just in time for Thanksgiving and all the family dinners (and potentially family conflict) that we can handle, it’s back. Cue the holiday miscommunications: Retrograde is in the house!

From 11.16.18 to 12.6.18, Mercury in Retrograde - better known as everyone’s favorite little scapegoat! - comes back around.

Mercury in Retrograde: November 2018

We love to blame things on Mercury in Retrograde, so much so that this is the number one question astrologers get: “We’re not in Mercury in Retrograde, are we?”

If the answer is no, people ask when it will happen because they have to build that anti-retrograde bunker.

If the answer is yes, we will get a litany of the worst, most terrible communication driven issues to ever befall anyone since Juliet woke up just 0.25 seconds too late.

In short, if there’s a clusterfuck in spitting distance, someone, anyone, even astrologers themselves, will blame it ALL on that bitch Satan monster from hell, Mercury in Retrograde.

During Mercury in Retrograde (MIR), you may see

  • Poor communication

  • Electrical issues

  • Travel confusion

  • Emails or entire files totally (and mysteriously) eaten

  • Text conversations spinning wildly out of control

  • A tendency to suffer from Foot in Mouth disease

  • Plans that need to be changed or rescheduled quickly

  • And oh so much more

My Libra planets deeply want me to be balanced and logical here, so it’s only fair (there’s Libra!) to tell you that Retrograde gets a bad reputation.

Shhhh, stop. Shhhh. You’re just going to give poor Mercury in Retrograde a complex. It’s not always the sent-straight-from-hell planetary combination that we have all come to dread.

Here’s the positive side of Mercury in Retrograde:

  • Former lovers return for reconnection, closure, or another go round. Buyer beware: it might not work...or it might. (Contact us to find out. )

  • Old friends resurface and previous misunderstandings are cleared

  • An excellent chance to review or renew old connections

ProTips For Sagittarius Mercury Retrograde Survival

Here’s how to survive Mercury in Retrograde, Sag version:

  • Is someone (you?) behaving over the top?

  • Is it helping or hurting a situation?

  • Sag is all big hearted sass and big questions: how can you bring that into your daily life for the better?

  • Be careful with your communication. Assume NOTHING.

  • For the love of everything, please think before you speak or write an email, ESPECIALLY because of the Sag influence.

  • Don’t sign on the dotted line, especially not in anything to do with higher education, big ideas, publishing, or travel. (The only time this may work is if this opportunity came up before the retrograde occurs.)

  • If you were born during a retrograde: You may actually feel a-ok during this time. After all, the planet is in its natural placement for you. You may feel sharper and more aware than usual.
